Our planet has hope. Still decaying and barely inhabitable, but ours. With the arrival of the females, we’re no longer lonely. Well, some of us aren’t. For the rest, we ache for what they have. Peace. Happiness. Love. But where the other unmatched Morts want a mate to call their own, I’m different. Life cruelly made me fall for the one person I’m not allowed to have. Bitterness Our planet has hope. Still decaying and barely inhabitable, but ours. With the arrival of the females, we’re no longer lonely. Well, some of us aren’t. Life cruelly made me fall for the one person I’m not allowed to have. Bitterness and jealousy are my mates now. I’ve resigned myself to the fact that I will always be alone. Until my commander sends me on a mission to rescue someone very important to his mate—her sister. A woman so different. So imperfect. So maddeningly defiant. Someone I have no interest in whatsoever. This feral female will never own my heart. Or so I thought. Love always has a plan of its own.

I have enjoyed every single installment of K. Webster’s & Nicole Blanchard’s ”Lost Planet” series. These stories are thoroughly entertaining. Each alien Hero will have you laughing and swooning in equal measure. Morts are wildly romantic and 100% devoted to their lady loves. When the series began, there were only five human females that were recovered from an abandoned spaceship, but now, Hadrian and Theron have come across that lost ship once again, and it looks like every Mort may get the chance to find their soul mate. ”THE LONELY ORPHAN” is Hadrian and Lyric’s story. These two get off to a rocky start but when they go out on a dangerous mission together, a near-death experience creates an overpowering bond between them. Hadrian and Lyric fall hard and fast for each other. Will an outbreak of the Rades on Exilium end up taking another loved one away from Hadrian? Hadrian was the youngest of all the morts and he was in love with someone he couldn't have. As the foster son of the commander, he shouldn't be in love with the commander's wife, much less make it into a problem. When he's tasked with leaving the facility to retrieve family members of the humans, he's angry at being separated from his love, regardless of the fact that she only see's him as a little brother. How could he ever expect that that dangerous trip would be the best thing to happen to Hadrian was the youngest of all the morts and he was in love with someone he couldn't have. I freaking loved their almost caustic meet-cute. Lyric's fiery attitude and Hadrian's arrogance were the perfect match. And look at that! They weren't lonely anymore. "You'll never be alone again." "That'd sound creepy from anyone else." "I'm your creep, your monster, and your mate. And I'll love you from this solar until our last" Once again, these authors have blown my mind with the way they brought this scifi romance world to life. I'm so in love with these morts and I cannot wait to get my hands on the next step in their journey!! Blog | FB | Twitter | IG | Tumblr | Pinterest | BookBub

4.5 Stars “I don’t know how we got here, Lyric. I never expected it. Never dreamed beyond what seems like silly desires in my past. This, though,” I mutter, pressing my palm to her bare skin beneath her shirt. “This is real and I want it more than anything in my entire life.” This was a different Hadrian that we see from the other books!!! And I really liked the change!! He was a little cocky, a little sure of himself. He definitely stepped it up as an authority figure with Lyric and everyone. 4.5 Stars “I don’t know how we got here, Lyric. I never expected it. Hadrian was in love with Aria. He knew he could never have her. But it didn’t stop him pining away for her. He just didn’t know any better. That was until he met Lyric.... Aria sister. Right away she challenged Hadrian. Kept him on his toes. And along the way they both started to fall for each other. “Lyric,” I growl. “The moment we go into your room, you’re mine forever. You understand? I’m never half into anything. I’m going to want every piece of you. I'm a selfish mort." I loved how Lyric too opened up to Hadrian. She knew he would never hurt her. He was by her side when she needed him the most. So she knew she could give herself to him. I’m really looking forward to Theron and Willow’s book!!! It’s going to be a good one!!! Willow is a little spitfire!!! And Theron likes to get her going and get under her skin. It’s going to be a bumpy road for Theron!!! *ARC provided for an honest review.* (This same review is on my blog Goodreads account.)

I love this series. Every one of these stories is different and intriguing, all on their own. In The Lonely Orphan, we get Hadrian whom we have known since the first book. K Webster and Nicole Blanchard gave Hadrian the story he deserved! Hadrian is the youngest Mort and was raised by Commander Breccan. I love each and every one of these Morts. Each story has a different feel yet blends well with each other. Each story gives more clues to the planet Mortuus and the story behind each lady that is with these Morts. I am so in love with this series and I constantly find myself wanting the next story as soon as I finish the one I'm reading. This time is no different. The Rogue Captain is next and I can't wait to read Theron's story!

5 Rekking stars! I love reading about this world and all these characters, finding new things about what’s to come and what’s happened. The world building is amazing and this duo knows how to write aliens and make them relatable and beyond lovable! Hadrian needed to grow up and grow up he sure as heck did. Lyric lit a fire under him and it was amazing to see. Their chemistry was off the charts and I’m just sad their story ended. I cannot wait for the next installment!

We Got Answers In the previous book I felt a bit lost some information was not provided but as I should have known it was a tease for what was to come on this one more the romance we where told how this all came to be and the reasons this world had become as dangerous as it is. Yes there is a love story and another alien find his mate but this book brought all the other together giving us more than expected.

The Lonely Orphan is an incredibly heartwarming and fiery hot story that I have been impatiently waiting for awhile now. I never knew exactly why this particular character had stolen a piece of my heart, but I completely understand why now. I never knew exactly why this particular character had stolen a piece of my heart, but I completely understand why now. I wasn’t expecting the beauty and love that I found within these pages, and it made my heart sing like never before as I allowed them to overtake and fill me up. What you find is so much more then just a love story. You discover a story of unmatched hope, a story of a life finally completed, and a story of a love that is finally realized after a lifetime of searching and wishing. These precious words reveal that life and fate have a measure of a plan in place, and sometimes we have to walk through the lonely darkness in order to find a light so brilliant that you can’t even look at it right away and a love so deep and profound that you will never be able to wrap your mind around it. Hadrian knows what he wants. He just can’t have it. I mean, it was never really his, but he can dream and hope, right? He knows that things won’t change for him, but he will be ready if they ever do. After all he deserves what his friends around him are slowly discovering, right? It’s not fair if he is left out while others experience what he wants just as much if not more. Lyric knows what she wants. She wants to find her family. She wants to fill that empty void in her heart and life. She knows she will be whole again whenever she finds her long lost sister. However, she has a few obstacles in her way that she has to deal with including a huge hulking alien. He is just as stubborn as her if not more so, and he has a way of getting to her like no one else. She just needs his help for a short time, and then they can part ways, right? When their plans are waylaid by the unthinkable, can they hold onto a hope that they can no longer feel or see? Lyric is a great character and what a match for Hadrian! He thinks he knows what he wants, but when she careens into his life, he is left unsure what will happen. She shifts his world and leaves all of his goals in a shattered mess. He knows that you can’t control life or people around you. All you can do is hold on and wait out the ride. These two were like two shooting stars. Both headstrong and on a path for imminent collision. The only question is what happens whenever these two cross paths and find out just how connected they really are. Nicole Blanchard and K Webster truly ripped my heart open with this latest installment in their brilliant series! Not only have their taken one of my favorite characters and shown us his astounding story, but they gave me back some peace and hope that I had lost long ago. I have become numb and resigned over the years, and Hadrian and Lyric reminded me that life is always changing and sometimes even for the better even if we have no idea what is happening. I love stories that give birth to unexpected hope in my soul and talk to me in ways I never imagined. This book is a true treasure and a tremendous joy to experience! Savor every moment and remember that each of us are someone’s precious and beloved world.

As soon as I opened this read, I was instantly back in Mortuus with my favorite Morts. Not going to lie... I kind of LOVE this series, and this world that K and Nicole have created. From the dynamics of each character to the details in which they create this world, it’s incredible. Each book added to the series is like another layer of intrigue and insight of what it is to be a Mort. Throw in the complexities of each character, and when you sit down to read you get a WHOLE ‘nother perspective. As soon as I opened this read, I was instantly back in Mortuus with my favorite Morts. Each book added to the series is like another layer of intrigue and insight of what it is to be a Mort. Throw in the complexities of each character, and when you sit down to read you get a WHOLE ‘nother perspective. Especially in the case of Hadrian and Lyric. Stuck on the one person he can’t have, Hadrian is set in believing there is no one else out there for him. He takes off on a mission that will forever change his view on his own life. Finally having to grow up and become the leader he was meant to be while convincing a skeptical Lyric that he isn’t the monster she thinks he is. I loved getting Hadrian’s story cause it was almost like a coming of age/leadership read. He was always the funny, spontaneous, and headstrong character, so having him really come into his own in this was just what I wanted. Plus the give and take with Lyric was THE BEST! Lyric, the group nominated leader of the overrun prison, will do everything and anything to get to her sister. When Hadrian comes crashing into her world, she must learn to go against the majority and trust the “monster”. The sweet passion between these two is just that. Sweet, almost innocent like, however there is definitely still the intense need as well. The way they both learn to lead and lean on one will have you cheering them on from your curled up reading spot. Once again, K and Nicole have transported me back to a world that I never want to come back from. I am literally counting the days till I see the teasers for the next one in this series. Be sure you start from the beginning of this series, and catch up fast as you will want Hadrian and Lyric in your life.

He’s one of the ones I wanted to Gibbs smack some sense into for a long time, and in the beginning of this one that feeling was strong, but it didn’t take long for him to show his true colors and I ended up loving the playful, compassionate and protective Mort. Lyric is pretty awesome. Strong, sassy, compassionate and determined. She doesn’t back down for anyone, but she also knows when to take a step back and think about what is the best thing to do for everyone. Their journey to their HEA was a fun one. Things do happen quickly, but from the start there was that spark between them and considering the situations they found themselves in, it wasn’t difficult to see that they were perfect for each other. If it isn’t obvious by now, I’m absolutely loving this series and how the authors are slowly, but surely expanding this world. This book definitely brought a lot more depth to the world and a lot more characters to love on. I loved catching up with the couples I’ve to love, but when it comes to the newbies, Zoe is the one I want to know more about. And as for that epilogue...alls I can say is that the next book is definitely going to be all kinds of crazy after what happened and I cannot wait to see how it all plays out for the two involved! ~ Copy provided by IndieSage PR & voluntarily reviewed ~

Gosh I love this series!!! Each book is just better than the last it seems, and that’s saying a lot since I’ve been loving these morts from book one! Yes, our sweet Hadrian has a crush on the commanders girl. But he never dreamed that in finding Lyric and bringing her back to Aria, he never dreamed he would also find his mate. Lyric is fiery and a hot tamale, y’all. I loved her. She was bad ass, did what she had to do to save herself, her crew, and to give peace and reassurance to those aboard the ship. Oh, and she also was one of three who took out the correctional officers, so the girls could take over the prison. Lyric has web searching for her sister, Aria for years... she won’t stop looking for her, so when these pale aliens tell her, they have her onboard their facility, she is overjoyed. It doesn’t hurt that Hadrian , the cocky young Mort, is sexy and makes her all hot and bothered. Plus, after what Hadrian did for Lyric, how could you not fall hard for him? I was worried about our remaining Morts after all the other human women were mated off, especially Hadrian. He was positive that he was in love with Aria, even though she is mated to Breccan, the mort he considers his father. It doesn't matter that she has made it quite clear that she only sees him as a little brother, that thought is still there. I think that this shows just how very young that Hadrian is. He's really only a young man, one who is just starting out in life and trying to figure out what is going on with everything in his life. And Aria, who is a really pretty woman, is the first woman he has seen in his teenage and adult life. So, of course, he's going to feel a certain way about her. And then we have Lyric. She is Aria's younger sister. She looks like Aria. But she is much fiercer than Aria, I think. Hadrian calls her a feral woman, and I'm pretty sure that's a good description of her. She has come looking for Aria, and ended up in a prison on the same planet. Aria and Breccan have sent two of the morts, including Hadrian out to find her. And find her they did. I think that Lyric and Hadrian are actually quite perfect for each other. They are both leaders, they are both strong, and they both feel responsibility to their people. I think that they are going to really complement each other well. I have to wonder about something that one of the women said when the morts first started contacting them. They said there are more of those monsters. Does that mean that there are still more morts hiding that we don't know aobut? Interesting.

This was the long awaited book of Hadrian's. After loving after Aria for so long, it was great to see him in a place where he could finally have feelings for someone else. When he and Theron go looking for Molly's daughter Willow and Aria's sister Limerick, they find more than they bargained for. I am looking very forward to the next book.

I haven't read the previous books in The Lonely Planet series, so I was a bit lost in the beginning, in this new, futuristic world, but once I figured out the lingo of the Morts, things got interesting, and hot, and entertaining, and little scary, and hot again, and I just went with it enjoying the ride. The Hero and Heroine completed each other perfectly. Hadrian, was young, a strong fighter in training, and a little naive in some matters, but he became a total alpha when they got down to business with Lyric. Lyric, was a strong, brave, fierce, but, in the inside, secretly, she was also lonely, and just like Hadrian she longed for love and family. They both found what they were missing, in each other. "We'll never be lonely again because we'll have each other. And together, we'll create something new and wonderful." Who would have thought alien hanky panky could be that rekking hot, lol. ( Yeah, you can tell I really like the words "rek" and "rekking" lol) looks like I'll be reading the previous stories in this series too and I can't wait to read what happens next, with Theron and Willow, in The Rogue Captain. Those two seem like a lot of fun. I am going to leave Theron's words here as a little teaser of what's to come > > " Curling around her, I inhale her scent, admire her lovely breasts, and then meet her stare. Fire. Fury. Flames. I found a mate who blazes like the sun. I'm a lucky mortarekker." LOL. See, like I said, fun.

*ARC provided for an honest review.* -Michelle

I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie's Book Reports. Our planet has hope. Still decaying and barely inhabitable, but ours. But where the other unmatched Morts want to mate to call their own, I'm different. Life cruelly made me fall for the one person I'm not allowed to have. Bitterness and jealousy are my mates now. I've resigned myself to the fact that I will always be alone. Until my commander sends me on a mission to rescue someone very important to his mate-her sister. A woman so different. So imperfect. So maddeningly defiant. Someone I have no interest in whatsoever. This feral female will never own my heart. Or so I thought. Love always has a plan of its own. This is the fifth book in the Lost Planet Series. You need to read the other books in this series to understand everything that is going on in The Lonely Orphan. This is the book that I think a lot of us have been waiting on. I have fallen so in love with Hadrian. He is the youngest Mort and has been raised by Commander Breccan and he wants his mate but knows that he can never have Aria. He also feels like he has no respect from the other Morts and is very tired of not having what he thinks he deserves. No he is on a mission to go and save Aria's sister who is also Molly's daughter. What he thinks is a mission to show the woman he loves that he would do anything quickly turns into something very scary. I thought this story was amazing and is my favorite in the series. It is emotional and had me all over the place. I am loving this series so much and I am not much of a paranormal reader. I can not wait to get the next book in my hands.

I really loved this, and I really liked that we got to see more of the world. I liked the rades, the new creatures, and I loved the teaser for the next book. Really enjoyed all the new characters too! Only bad thing is I now have to wait for the next one lol.

Hadrian and Lyric were the perfect couple. Hadrian really showed growth and the loveable traits of a hero. Lyric is the sister of the commander's mate and Hadrian has been sent to find her. She's also a strong woman. This is a good read and series.
