Bossy Bride: Emma & Jesse

Jesse Boston is the man of my dreams. He’s super sexy, super rich, and super funny. He gets all my jokes, he treats me like a princess, and our love life is smokin’ hot. So I’m gonna marry him. I’m not real picky about how that happens and if my mother wants to have her say, fine. That’s fine. She gave birth to three boys and just one girl. So I get it. She NEEDS a wedding. Karen Krakken-Channing will not plan my wedding, will not be at my wedding, and she’s certainly not going to be IN my wedding. Luckily, my jet-butler, Miles, and my almost-husband get this great idea! We’re going to elope to Vegas on Christmas Eve eve, get hitched in the most ridiculous way possible, and then fly home in time for Christmas Eve dinner. We’ve got it all figured out. Nothing can go wrong. We will have one simple wedding in like… a drive-through chapel, and call it good. Take that, KAREN! Bossy Bride features Jesse and Emma getting almost-hitched on a roller coaster, tricked into being the stars of a pirate show, jumping out of an airplane, and saying their vows in front of two huge Italian families who don’t speak English. It’s a rompy, whirlwind trip down a rabbit hole of “Fantasy” Vegas weddings planned by a man called “Fingers” and just when you think nothing else could go wrong—a mermaid descends from the ceiling.

Bossy Bride was billed as "pee in your pants funny." I didn't think it was that much of a comedic romp but that doesn't mean it wasn't a good read. I found it a bit deeper and felt it was consistent with Jesse in its OTT-ness. I enjoyed it for what it was. Mama Dumas definitely likes having things her way. It's no surprise her daughter would be the same way. I didn't find it odd that Emma was upset by her mother taking the reigns for her wedding plans but I did find her actions/reactions a bit Bossy Bride was billed as "pee in your pants funny." Of course, we're talking about a woman who bought Jesse at a charity auction with plans of revenge. So maybe not that much out of character. Considering Jesse's dream at the beginning of the book, and considering he's a Boston, I have to admit to having conspiracy theories when all the wedding shenanigans were going down. Especially at the end. And I also admit to hoping things would happen similarly to how they did. I don't think I can say I'm disappointed with Bossy Bride per se. I don't think it lived up to its billing but that could just be me. However, after getting about a third of the way in, I accepted it for what I felt it was going to be and settled in to enjoy the ride. Again, Bossy Bride was consistent with Jesse so it was lighter fare than the other installments. I suppose I simply prefer Huss's meatier stories.

*I received a free copy of Bossy Bride. This has in no way influenced my voluntary review which was honest and unbiased.* This was cute, and I'm sure many readers found it funny, too. I guess I wasn't in the mood for this kind of over the top humor today - because I love these bossy brothers and their significant others SO much. Bossy Bride just didn't work for me for some reason - but if you're in the mood for a fun romp in Vegas, you should definitely get it.

Emma and Jesse's wedding was absolutely fantastic that left me laughing out loud at so many places. I found this book so easy to relate to with all the drama of other people and I couldn't have asked for the author to pull out any more feels for me after this read.

Just when I think the world of the Boston brothers can't get any more crazy, J.A. Huss goes and writes Bossy Bride! I swear I really want inside this author's mind since this adventure goes from zero to sixty in a hot minute and yet she still managed to bring a tear to my eyes with the last two chapters and an epilogue that was so damn touching. And here I thought this would just be a little adventure getting to the nuptials between Emma Dumas and Jesse Boston. Oh how foolish I was. Huss took me on THE most fantastic of rides involving Emma's adorable sky-butler and his questionable past, a man named Fingers and his over-the-top entourage and FOUR weddings in Sin City that almost convinced me that the entire story was a dream. Or a nightmare depending on how you look at it. But it's the real deal and although I didn't truly see how it could all turn out ok, it did! And it was beautiful and silly and sweet and hysterical but most importantly, it showcased just how devoted Jesse was to his woman and it's the love that ultimately shines through over and over again. All the Boston brothers are present and accounted for with their own loved ones by their sides. And with the entire Dumas family also in the fray, all I can say is that what transpires in Bossy Bride may just be the beginning of one heck of a new extended family that I can't wait to read about in future books. I'll hold on tight once more and revel in the lunacy mixed with the tender that I have come to adore in this series. For something a bit different that will have you laughing and gasping all the way to the end, grab Bossy Bride: Emma & Jesse and see why Huss remains a go-to author for me. She is always bringing the very best even when it's a bit off the wall. 5 solid stars!

Bossy Bride was a nice little departure from the seriousness that has been going on in the Bossy series. It was a hoot to read and tag along with Jesse and Emma as they try and outsmart her bossy mother and slip away to Vegas for an impromptu wedding. But when her mother springs a childhood nemesis on Emma, she takes matters into her own hands and whisks Jesse off on the Bright Berry Beach corporate jet to Vegas. What ensues from there was just a hilarious and action packed ride through the streets and casinos of Las Vegas. What was super fun for me is that I live in Las Vegas so I was visualizing each of the outrageous scenarios they get themselves into and man did I laugh at some of the crazy antics these two get up to. Even though most of this book is about the wild and crazy situations that Jesse and Emma manage to get themselves into, it also has some pretty emotional parts scattered throughout. Jesse has never been known as the "deep thinker" of the three brothers, but he does do a bit of soul searching in this story, and when he opened up with Emma and told her about his childhood and what it was like, especially during the Christmas holiday, that really pulled on the heartstrings. Of course we got to see the whole Bossy crew as well as the Dumas crew and Emma's girl tribe and may I just say, I need a Miles in my life!! That dude...yeah, I want one just like him! Strap in tight for a whirlwind trip to Vegas and find out if Emma and Jesse were able to outsmart her bossy mother! And a little hint for the next book, Bossy Brothers: Alonzo. Man, I hope at some point Miles gets his own book!

Bossy Bride is the next book in JA Huss’ Bossy Brothers series. Jesse and Emma are ready to take the next step and get married. Emma has her vision of an intimate ceremony for her nuptials. I love this story not only because I can spend time with my favorite Boston Brother, but because Bossy Bride is a fun read. The wedding runs into so many bumps, the reader wonders if this couple will ever make it to the alter. I laughed often at the hijinks. Of course, it wouldn’t be a Huss story if it was totally suspense free. Jesse shares a little more of his backstory. We learn about Christmas time for the young Boston boys. What a touching addition to their young lives. There are a few minutes towards the end when I wonder what is going to happen. Let’s face it Jesse is still a Boston, and there are still people who aren’t his fans. I loved this adventure into Huss’ Boston world. I love that everything is happening at Christmas time. I’ll say again, I loved it! Bossy Bride is a romantic adventure, and a must read!

Omg this was BRILLIANT!!! I absolutely loved Bossy Bride and will say that it is officially my favorite of the series. I laughed so hard during most of it that my husband started giving me the "are you mental" look. So of course, I did what I had to do and shared with him all the hilariousness that occurred while he looked at me with a blank expression. I'm sure I sounded crazy, but at that point I just had to tell someone!! The story is the continuation of Jesse and Emma who are now engaged. Emma Omg this was BRILLIANT!!! Emma finds out that not only did her high school nemesis "Krakken Karen" move back to key west and is living catty-wonkus diagonal to them, but that her mother asked Karen to plan Emma's wedding and to be a bridesmaid!! WHAT?!?! Emma is not going to have any part of that and takes off to Vegas with Jesse so they can do things their way. This is when things start getting hilarious... they purchase the Pick Three Buffet weddings from Fingers Fantasy Weddings and go on a wild ride (for real!!). There's the rollercoaster, the pirate ship, the skydiving... which nothing goes right. Then there's the Italian mafia family... and then the big secret is revealed....(what? Did you think I was going to provide spoilers?? Ptshhhh. Never!) What I will tell you is that it will blow your mind and love it!!! This book is like a Bossy version of The Hangover. I give this book ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐!! I recieved an ARC for my honest review!!

Bossy Bride is an outrageously hilarious romantic comedy novella in author JA Huss’ Bossy Brothers series. I fell for the main characters, Jesse and Emma in the first book of the series. Their crazy escapades are taken up a notch in this latest installment. I love the chemistry between Jesse and Emma. Jesse’s head-over-heels in love and more than willing to make bossy Emma the happiest bride ever. Naturally, that means letting Emma go a little crazy in order to be in charge of her wedding. What a flipping rollercoaster ride that was. It was not even close to what I was expecting but it was EVERYTHING I never thought I needed from a JA Huss book. I loved Jesse and Emma...from the beginning they were the first on this Bossy Brothers ride and they were the ones closest to my heart. I wanted them to have everything they ever wanted. Little did I know that these two would take us on an exhilarating, heart stopping, death inducing ride cross country and then some. I think...I do believe What a flipping rollercoaster ride that was. This book was an incredibly romantic non-stop roller coaster ride (pun definitely intended) of laughs and absolutely endearing absurdity. In my world, that makes it absolute perfection. This is Emma & Jesse's crazy adventure into their marriage, and is filled with wit, humor, suspense, and steamy romance, and it just became my top favorite holiday read. Bossy Bride by J.A. Huss is the fourth installment in the Bossy Brothers series. In this latest story, we find Jesse and Emma traveling home for Christmas. We already knew Emma Dumas was a kick-a$$ heroine for being able to face and be comfortable around the Boston boys, but in this story, we get to see why she turned out the way she did! On the surface, the Dumas family is the type Jesse would have enjoyed growing up in, so instead he gets to marry into it instead! Vanilla-type in-laws would never do for Emma so she gets anti-vanilla with the Bostons! Mix the two together and your head will spin with more twists and turns than a roller coaster We already knew Emma Dumas was a kick-a$$ heroine for being able to face and be comfortable around the Boston boys, but in this story, we get to see why she turned out the way she did! Emma Dumas & Jesse Boston! These two are fricking crazy! But only the good type. Their attempt to get married in Vegas far away from Emma's bossy mother gets them into messy but funny situations. And in this book Jesse is so open about his feelings that it's so romantic and beautiful that I wanted to cry. Okay, I admit, I cried when he had that heart to heart exchange with his brothers just before getting married. My heart ached for all of them, I just wanted to hug them all at once and Emma Dumas & Jesse Boston! These two are fricking crazy! But only the good type. Needless to say, I loved it!! 5 bossy stars <3

Bossy Bride was ridiculously crazy! I can most definitely say I was not expecting any of the things that happened in this book. Emma and Jesse decide to get away to Vegas for a quick wedding to escape her mother’s wedding planning. In Vegas Jesse and Emma experience a lot of craziness all in the name of love. I laughed a lot while reading this quick paced and witty romantic comedy. It was just what I needed at a crazy time in my own life. Talk about a wedding from hell. LOL!!!! JA Huss has written a couple wedding stories that didn't go as planned. Maybe she shouldn't be in charged of planning weddings. ; ) HAHA!! Just teasing. This was a fun quick chaotic Huss style wedding. And definitely fit Jesse and Emma's life. And it is funny what these strong men will do for love. And to please the women they love. This book will have you laughing so hard. Trust me it took me several tries to get through a certain scene in the book. But Talk about a wedding from hell. LOL!!!! A Vegas wedding has never been more hilariously disastrous... Emma is a woman of strong emotions and when she is upset Jesse will do everything in his power to make her happy. This book was full of laughs and a rollercoaster (literally) of events. I absolutely loved getting back to Jesse and Emma and their antics, this couple was born to be together. I loved how this story played out and the huge surprise at the end of it all. I loved how sweet the ending was from both Jesse and Emma, I really enjoyed how both families were so involved too. There were some missing pieces that I would’ve loved to get some answers to but still, this was such a good and fun read that This book was full of laughs and a rollercoaster (literally) of events. Ridiculously awesome chaos This series. I think I'm in love. Jesse and Emma are the epitome of bossiness- until you meet her mom. The hilarity of this story is off the charts. This story of wedding one-uppedness is utter havoc yet total perfection for the two. The things that stand out here are that life is what you make of it and family is whom you surround yourself with. PS. gotta go read all the other JA Huss books now as this was my first series/books I've read by her. I'm an addict now.

Bossy Bride Jesse and Emma are back and they are as adorable as ever!! My heart melts reading about their cuteness. This novel is fast paced and crazy and insanely romantic, leaving us to wonder.....will there be an “I do”? Perfect for a Christmas read! We are treated to a catch up with all the existing characters that we know and love, as well as meeting new ones and getting glimpses into what might be in store for the Boston and Dumas clans.
